Seether is a South African hard rock band founded in 1999 in Pretoria, Gauteng. The band originally performed under the name Saron Gas until 2002, when they moved to the United States and changed it to Seether to avoid confusion with the deadly chemical known as sarin gas

Seether’s new album ‘The Surface Seems So Far’ is due out Sept. 20. Their first single “Judas Mind” previewed this era of the band’s career as the album’s lead single. It’s a mix of brooding emotions and vocalist/songwriter Shaun Morgan‘s grungy howl set to buzzsaw guitars and a huge chorus.

“Illusion” is the second single from The Surface Seems So Far, the new studio album from hard rock band Seether scheduled for release on Sept. 20.

“‘Illusion’ is one of the highlights for me on this album,” said bassist Dale Stewart. “With its hypnotic opening riff chugging away like industrial machinery, the haunting melodies in the chorus and the all-out intensity of the bridge, I feel this song is a step forward for us whilst simultaneously being Seether through and through. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.”
