Geezer Butler Would Love To Play Final Show With Original Black Sabbath Lineup
Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler has revealed his desire to play a final show with the original Black Sabbath lineup.
Butler joins former bandmates Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi in expressing his desire for one last show with original drummer Bill Ward.
Butler, who co-founded Sabbath with Osbourne, Iommi, and Ward in 1968, revealed his desire on Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk on May 28. However, he admitted that the reunion is unlikely.
Butler was asked about Osbourne’s recent comment that he would like to play one final Sabbath concert with the band’s original drummer Ward. Geezer said,
“Of course, there’s an interest [on my part to do it], but there’s a big ‘but’ — you’d have to speak to Bill about it. Everybody wants to do it [but I don’t know if he is] capable [of pulling it off].”
Speaking about whether he thinks Bill would be able to play a couple of songs, either as part of a concert or a new Sabbath recording project, Geezer said,
“I don’t think so. Maybe, I don’t know. I mean, the way technical things happen these days, maybe a couple of songs, but who knows? There wouldn’t be any traveling involved. We wouldn’t be actually all in the studio at the same time together. So it could be done that way — maybe.”
