“Heavy is the Crown” is the second single shared by nu-metal legends Linkin Park with its new lineup from the band’s upcoming album From Zero.

The single showcases the powerhouse vocals of new singer Emily Armstrong as she trades off with vocalist/rapper Mike Shinoda. The song is heavy and it sounds similar to “Faint,” one of Linkin Park’s most notable hits.

“Heavy is the Crown” will also serve as the 2024 League of Legends World Championship Anthem:

From Zero will be out in full on Nov. 15.

The track listing:

1. From Zero (Intro)
2. The Emptiness Machine

“Heavy is the Crown” was debuted by Linkin Park onstage in Hamburg, Germany on Sept. 22, during a stop on the band’s world tour.

It’s the second song shared so far from From Zero — following “The Emptiness Machine,” which introduced this new era and marked Linkin Park’s first activity as a band in seven years.

Since its release, “The Emptiness Machine” has already become one of the band’s biggest songs in years:

It vaulted into the Top 5 of the Spotify Global Chart, clinched #1 on both Alternative and Rock Radio, catapulted to #1 on the Billboard Alternative and Rock Airplay Chart, and reached the Billboard Hot 100 at #21.

The road back to activity was a long time coming for Linkin Park.

The globally successful alternative/nu-metal/rock band roared back into existence on Sept. 5 with a live stream event from Burbank, Calif. The band’s first performance since 2017 and showcased a new lineup featuring vocalist Emily Armstrong (of the band Dead Sara), alongside band leader/multi-instrumentalist Mike Shinoda, bassist Dave “Phoenix” FarrellDJ Joe Hahn and new drummer Colin Brittain and guitarist Alex Feder (filling in live for original guitarist Brad Delson).

Without a doubt, this has all been an emotional ride for Linkin Park fans, as the group had not previously done anything following the Oct. 2017 tribute concert honoring late vocalist Chester Bennington, who passed away suddenly from suicide three months earlier.

Many wondered if Linkin Park would continue in any capacity, and the answer, seven years later, is a resounding YES.
